is this gecko's eye shut ?????

hi. i was visiting my brothers friend's house and he has a gecko and i picked her up and noticed there was shead on her face and over her eye, i noticed her eye was completely shut, i felt like crying i tired to get it off and i did get a little off , i was wondering what should they do, while i was trying to take it off she tried to bite me, i kept going and tried to get if off but i had to leave . i was wondering if anyone can help me.

Does it she have a good humid hide? A humid hide will help a ton, Ive had few to no shed problems.

You can use a damp cotton swab to help moisten and remove stuck shed.

One thing that worked for me when my gecko had once a piece of shed retained in her nose was to put her in a fauna box for ten minutes with paper towels that I previously damped with hot water.

The humidity from the vapour softened her skin and it got off by itself, I didn't even had to rub the shed. If it doesn't fall alone with that, you should gently rub the old skin with an ear stick or something similar.

sounds like your brother's friend shouldn't have a gecko if he can't take care of it. You can try swabing the eye with a q-tip and saline or water. If you think you can do it, try twezers but be extra careful. I would try a warm bath or the fauna box also.....and by all means, offer to take that gecko from him, because it sounds like you are more concerned than he is. Also, if you get a chance, check its toes for left over shed also.
