Is it normal for a African Fat Tail to have black eyes? I have never owned one before but i acquired a cute lil female today from someone that i do not think knew what they were doing so i felt bad shes not really skinny but shes got a regen tail and kinda small for her age shes supposed to be 8 months old and i have had leos for about 8 years now and all mine at 8 months were about 50-60 grams almost and this one i think is about 30 grams. and shes missing parts of some toes. shes very sweet. she appears to be a normal phase atf from ones i have seen here is pix.

i think it is normal. i do not have any so get more opinions. but i think all the ones i have seen had black eyes.

she is very cute and lucky to be in your care. she looks a healthy weight to me too. tho again i have never had one so i dont know what the proper weight is.

i have confirmed she is 30 grams i just weighed her. hopefully i can get her fatter soon and eating superworms shes supposedly eats crickets i have some crix but i feed my leos superworms they will not eat crix anymore they are spoiled lol if anyone knows do atf's grow slower than leos? just curious because i am used to babies i normally hatch being about 20+ grams when i sell tham at 2-3 months old but a hard life would explain why shes so small shes supposed to be captive bred. i am not sure i just wanted to give her the life she needed. and i have always wanted a atf well more than 1 lol...i started with 2 leos and now look where i am i have 15 lol they are addictive

i didnt think supers were a good staple diet. am i wrong?

also its African Fat Tail gecko. so i think the short name for it is AFT not atf

i dont know what the proper weight is so you will have to get help with that from someone who has them.

it sounds like you will give this gecko the life it needs.

got pics of your leos? do you breed them or just collect?

that was a typo lol i meant to put aft lol. i breed leos well try to when they want to breed i am hoping to have success this year. i havent had babies in 2 years. i know a varied diet is better i have tried to get them but into crickets and i would mind feeding roaches but if i buy them they probably wont eat them anyway so it would be a waste of money and good insects for other lizards instead of dying with me when i have nothing to feed them too if they wont eat them. i gutload my worms with pro gutload and chicken layer feed and all types of veggies and all my leos are fat. here is pix of my leos lol

the patternless isnt a breeder every time i try to put him with a female she beats him up so now hes strictly a pet. but i guess that happens sometimes

you have some awesome leos! i like the all white female that is in the bin with the others. it looks like a ghost leo lol. what is the morph name of it?

i also like the first male pic allot. the patterning on his head is really cool. whats its morph?

the last pic is the patternless. and the whitish ones are Blazing Blizzards and the the one male you said liked is a Tangerine Tremper Albino het for Raptor and something else. thanks i try to pick out nice healthy animals. i want a few more fat tails now i have always wanted a few of them and now its starting on a new addiction lol im bad lol

lol i like arboreal geckos too but i dont really have room for their housing. i like the way leachies look and some of the other ones i really like day geckos but you cant really hold them which sucks.

why cant you hold day geckos?

yeah i like aboreal geckos and lizards the best. thats why i chose a crestie.

leachies are cool. i like the fact that they get so big.

my favorite geckos so far out of all the kinds i have seen is cresties. they are really cute.

i heard that day geckos you can damage their skin but touching them i do not know if it is true but i heard if they want to take them out of their cage they try to get into a jar or something. i like leos the best because they come in lots and lots of colors and they are generally very nice. and easy to care for.
