I have had my five month old female leo for about three months now and as she has developed, so have her calcium pockets behind her front legs. I've always noticed that they have been rather large, but recently I've observed what appears to be a very abnormal enlargement of the pockets. Similar pocket-like bubbles have also appeared, on the sides of her neck and just in front of her back legs. Does calcium get stored here as well or is this something I need to be concerned about?

Do you think that too much calcium is the problem? She gets 10 calcuim dusted mealworms every other night and she has no calcium dish in her container.

What you are seeing is most likely calcium-rich lymphatic fluid. Some geckos metabolize calcium differently than others, so I would also suggest cutting back her calcium for awhile.

My one female that laid eggs last year started to develope the calcium pouches right behind her front legs. I stopped dusting for about a week and it went away. She maintained her weight so I feel it wasn't fat.

I would definately try that first then if nothing comes from it, get that fecal to the vet. Hope that helps.

She still had fat pockets afterwards but they weren't nearly as big. I don't know how she's doing now though because I sold her about 6 months ago.
