right the thing is my male and female live together all the time in the same tank and have been together for 5 years and there is no fighting in anyway.

even when she is not in the mood for breeding.

but what i am thinking is this ok.

i took bob out of the tank for a 3 week and rita stopped eating and would not eat a thing not even waxworms.

i put bob back in with her and she ate the same night i put him in the tank

i am asking this question as these are a breeding pair and i don't want rita getting ill from not having a rest from him trying to do the dirty.

thanks zoie

I had the same problem with one of my males he stopped eating when i took him out, the girls didnt care either way lol
I just left him to get over him self really. he did eat in the end.
I think it would be okay for a few weeks at a time as thats all they really need. not eating for a few weeks wont hurt her if she has a nice big fat store :)

Maybe she missed him, but it could also be partly from being moved to a different enclosure. At least, that's my thought.

when i moved him she lost a lot of size and would look round the viv for him she was out day and night that is why i put him back in

I have the same problem with four of Thor's wives. When he goes to the other enclosures for mating, they act like the world is depressing and ending. They have been together since hatching so if they are together for so long I don't see the point of separation.
