So i decided to tell Petco they weren't caring for there pets correctly...

Thank you for choosing Petco! One of our representatives will be with you shortly.
You are now chatting with JR.
JR: Hello! I am a Petco Customer Relations Representative. How may I be of service today?
You: I have a couple questions relating to your site.
You: I looked at your care guide for a leopard gecko and found that most of the information on there was incorrect. :(
JR: Oh I apologize for seeing the information to be incorrect. May I know the page you're referring to?
You: http://www.petco.com/assets/caresheets/lizards/leopard-gecko.pdf
You: I have kept leopard geckos for years. It may be correct, however, I'm not to sure. Sorry if I am being troubled.
JR: May I know the information that was listed on this page that seems to be incorrect?
You: It says you can use sani-chips, calcium sand, or reptile carpet. Sani-chips and calcium sand cause impaction and they loose toenails on reptile carpet. Also, they dont require lighting.
You: Also, the cool side should not be 78-88 degrees, but instead 72-78 degrees
You: Everything else seems correct. Once again, I am sorry if I am wasting your time. I am just concerned
JR: Thank you for checking the information we have and please be advised that this was given and approved by the US veterinary group and this give a simple care information about the pet.
You: Alright..
JR: Is there anything else I can help you with today?
You: No
You: Bye.
JR: Thank you for chatting with us. We value your feedback. Please click the "End Chat" button at top right to answer a few questions about your experience with us today.

Dose anyone know if there care method was really aproved by a Us vet group? I don't think so.. do vets really give bad care info like that??

Thanks

Sometimes they use vets that don't even know a thing about the animals that Petco carries (aka dog/cat vet or even a large animal vet). Sometimes the vets will look up information in either very crummy books or very outdated books, as well.

The "vets" that a local pet store used (not a chain store) were not even licensed vets. They eventually got busted, fined, and jailed for a short while. Because the pet store KNEW they weren't licensed vets, but advertised that their animals were checked out by a licensed vet, they got shut down.
