i have a 20 gallon long aquarium.im useing a 10-20 gallon uth from zoo meds should that be ok? im asking because the 20 gallon long has more floor space then a 20 gallon regular aquarium
Yeah, you're right to ask this question. The 20L is the same width and length as a 29 gallon regular, just not as tall. None the less, so long as that heat mat can support the temp you need, it will be fine. If not, you may have to upgrade to the 30 gallon size.
it is 101 degrees on the floor where one of em sleeps during the day thats way to hot i assume.but then again i live in ga usa and its hot today i dont ac that room
yeah you don't want them to burn their little bellies. my temp on the warm side stays between 91-95 and the cool end is about room temperature 75-79. maybe you could get a thermostat for the heater or put a fan in the room to cool it down a bit
It's important that they get that belly heat as being without it can cause all kinds of health problems.
I would invest in a rheostat or similar so you can keep the temps within range, but still provide the belly heat that is essential to their health
I had one that kept my temps at a comfy 94F but then I decided to upgrade to the bigger size for my 20L because they I wanted a hide to fit on top of it with enough room to lay out on it if she didn't want to be in the hide.
