Is this worth the price?

That's probably what it would cost to buy all the components shown there, so it's not unreasonable, but you could use different materials and save money. For instance, I use paper towels as substrate, which is super cheap. I use juice bottle caps as a food dish. I've got a temperature gun so I don't have a thermometer in the cage. I found some good sticks in the backyard, which I used instead of buying one. My plants came from the dollar store. You could probably find a decent spray bottle there too. And I don't have a light on my guys. You can find a 10 gallon tank at garage sales or on craigslist for really cheap. And I use distilled water instead of conditioning tap water. So the only things you really need in that package are the CGD and calcium. It's really up to you.

Also, it says they usually charge $80-100 for their crestie babies. I know if you get one with the setup it's free, but I still think that's ridiculous. Unsexed babies go for about $30 at reptile shows, plus there you would actually get to pick out your gecko.

I'm with Amanda on this one. This may seem like a really great idea and a way to save some money but if you did the research, you could probably get higher quality stuff for almost the same price. Though you'd have to be a bit more patient to put the whole setup together...
Same with the gecko too. Free sounds like an unbeatable deal BUT picking out your favorite animal from a quality breeder's collection will ensure that you get a healthy and happy baby.
Good luck in your decision! Let us know which route you take!

Well lets put it this way I DON'T have the option of going to any reptile shows closest one is 5 hours away and is once a year and its during spring break and ill be in Mexico during it...Ugh.... So what I'm really saying is I HAVE to have my reptiles shipped to me. So wouldn't this make sense considering a Crestie is normally $50 and overnight shipping is $50 I may as well pay the extra 50 and get everything with it if ya know what I mean! And the guys at Pangea have excellent reviews!

I agree with everyone above. Everyone at Pangea is awesome. They are usually at the reptile shows in my area every month. From looking at the geckos they have at the shows, they really don't have a bad gecko, so this deal would probably be worth it. Good luck with your choice!

Yes I have only heard excellent things about them. They have top of the line cresties that's what made me interested in them. I think it's worth it cause you get to pick which kind you want ( if they have it) which is at least 60 and overnight shipping is always 50 so why not spend the extra 50 and get everything with it! You get a cage and temp gun and that combined is 50 alone! I did the pricing and you save about $60. But I found a breeder that's only 2 hours away so going that route instead :)

You don't want the screen cage. They are great for species that NEED the high ventilation to thrive, but it makes keeping the humidity up very difficult.
I would stick to a glass or plexiglass cage. The exo terra ones are excelent.
And you want to pick out your gecko. They might give you and ugly mean one... :0

I've got a screen cage for one of my cresties. I just put contact paper around 3 of the walls to help hold in humidity, and it's working great! The screen cages are a lot less expensive too.
