The egg is dead

all yellow and sunk and smelled really bad so took it out and had a peep inside it
was fertile but the embro was dead not fully formed inside but defo dead no heart beat

what did i do wrong ???????


My temps were all right
The humidity was right
The egg was not turned

awww. so sorry to hear this. sometimes it just happens that way. i actually had to pip an egg tonight and found almost exactly the same thing. i hope you get more good eggs

it really dose cut u down though when u have watch it in the incubator for so long to see it fade and die

well, if the gecko laid eggs before, it's likely to lay more. maybe the next batch will make it, eh! i've had some 'important' eggs this season that didn't make it as well. it is disheartening, but there will be more soon enough.

There was likely something wrong with the baby and it wouldn't have lived even if it hatched. It's harder to watch a baby suffer, only to die or have to cull it after hatch. Not anything you did wrong, all eggs just don't make it.
