either that or my meal worms are evaporating :)

Should I be worried that he hangs out in the moist hide all the time?

I scared him the other day when I refilled his water... he was hiding under the plant and I didn't seem him and when I reached down to grab the water dish he screamed (squeaked... whatever the noise they make is called). It really startled me! :main_laugh: little goober

Good to hear he's eating!

Where do you have your hide? Sometimes if it's on the hot side they won't leave it. Or he could be getting ready to shed.
I personally take my moist hides out as someone recomended it to me and I put them back in when they are shedding, or start to shed. But my guys won't leave their moist hide other wise. As I was worried they were using it to regulate their body temp since they were in there 24/7. I think they like the bedding though.

When I first got my little one she was very skittish like your Kirin :)

it is on the warm side.... I see him once and a while wandering around, but I leave the room and come back and he's "gone" (in the moist hide). I can take it out, but I don't know what leos look like when they shed, so I have no idea if that's the case or not... it's easier to tell with the beardie :)

it's not super humid in there.... I don't want to scare him to death by trying to wet or change the moss... it's only a little moist right now. is it bad if he's just comfy in there?

They need both humid and dry.I use a margarine container with a hole on top so they can climb in and out .Its filled with damp vermiculite. They just cant have their entire enclosure humid ,thats all

Dog Shrink had a good video but I couldnt find it, but this one gives you a pretty good idea what they look like when they shed and what they do to get the shed off!

They get almost totally white right before they shed but at the first sign of there color looking a little hazy means they are going into shed which could take a few days or so before they go white! Hope that helped some! :main_thumbsup:

awesome, thanks for the video! I don't think he's ready to shed... just comfy, I suppose :)

Roger, he's in a tiny sour cream container with a fairly good sized hole... not sure how he gets in and out but he does :)

hmmm he might be in shed I know mine will rub his head on things to start the skin to peal off thats what he does right before he sheds so keep an eye on him also it only took 12 days between my last 2 sheds I guess my guy is growing pretty fast:main_thumbsup:

If you're worried about him spending too much time in the humid hide, you could just let it dry out inbetween sheds. My girl loves her humid hide so I only wet it down when she's shedding so that she's not lounging around in moisture 24/7. I would feel bad taking it out since it's her favorite place to be.

I'm not sure why I was worried about the little dude eating... he's turning into quite the little pig! He goes through anywhere between 10 and 20 worms a day, and has even developed his little potty area. :) When he decided I wasn't so bad, he really got comfy :) Now... if I could only potty train the beardie lol

he's always got worms in there, the crickets have gotten kinda big so I'll just stick with worms for now... can he eat the normal sized mealworms? the little ones disappear SO quickly!
