This little girl started ovulating VERY shortly after I received her.
She went on an ovulation hunger strike for almost 2 months.
She had me worried sick. I called the vet, and my husband BEGGED me to give it until the end of the week because he KNEW why she wasn't eating, and I'm glad I did.
She started eating again, and now she's putting back on some of the 6 grams she lost during that hunger strike.

I love her very much. She just has one of the most precious leo faces EVER.
She's normally a small gecko as it is (she's just generally smaller in size, including length), so when that hunger strike hit, I got really worried about her.

Anyway, I brought her upstairs today and snapped some shots.

Thanks, guys!!!

Also, I don't want any of you to think that I don't know how to spell cotton.
I named this gecko after folk musician, Elizabeth Cotten.

Interesting facts:
Ever hear of the term "Cotton picking"? or ever have someone say "Just you wait one cotton picking second"?

A lot of people associate that saying with the slaves picking cotton, and it has become an inappropriate saying.

But in all honesty, the term really is "Cotten picking" because Elizabeth Cotten coined the term from her unique guitar and banjo pickin' style.
She grew up very poor and taught herself how to play the banjo at 8 years old and then the guitar at 12 (that's also when she wrote her first song). If I'm remembering correctly that's the order and ages in which she taught herself how to play. She was left handed and had to learn how to play these instruments upside down.
Which, really, is an amazing talent, I think.

I learned all of this when I did a research paper and presentation on folk music for my Humanities class in college.

She was a brilliant and gifted musician and one of my favorites.

heh, sorry, I added all of that in there. I just think it's so interesting.
