Well my incubator came late...to bad 2 eggs had to die because of it but anyways thats besides the point.

So I got the HovaBator it it looks hella confisung but i got it together and i was reading the instrustions and it says to turn the eggs 2-3 times a day?

I thought you werent suposed to flip the eggs because it could drown the embryo...was that part of the directions just for chicken eggs or something?

o and one more thing....

on the directions it shows the eggs just sitting on the wire rack just like that. Is it better to put them in the containers w/ vermiculite like everybody else does?

those directions are for poultry eggs. Do Not turn the eggs must stay in the positon that they are laid. Plus get the vermicule and use it. From what i have read i got 10 eggs and looks like half are good to go 4 weeks later, the rest never did do anything but keep them if the light yellow unless they defalte or get molded so far all my information has come from here (THANKS EVERYONE). Go with the info here everyone has been alot of help to me. I also have learned from reading if you got the version with the fan do not use the fan.

lol good thinking ;)

We went by Albey's how to incubate instructions and have produced 11 out of 12 fertile eggs so far this season ;)

and just like in her instructions, once you moisten the perlite once, you don't have to do it again.. and one other tip, perlite will still look pretty dry when it is moist enough...but as long as it balls into your hand without dripping, it's good. You can throw out the idea of things being "too dry" because most people first starting out tend to make things too wet ;)

If you use vermiculite instead of perlite, the water ratio is 1:1
