he he he, i'm very bored!

New York finally got hit with its first official snow storm of the season (I think). It snowed from around 10:30am to about 3pm now it's a mixture of snow and rain, WONDERFUL! I went shopping today and my boyfriends car was slipping and sliding all over the place and he was just driving 5mph, Lol. While it's beautiful to watch from my window, its really crappy to know how cold and how bad it is to travel in it.

I left work early because too many people with SUV's can't drive

The highway was going 40-45 mph, but a joker in a toyota FJ cruiser was in a huge hurry and passed me at 55. I had trouble reading the temp registration upside down when I seen him a mile later upside down(yes I laughed real loud at him as he swore endlessly), 3 miles later there was a X5 on a pole. 2 miles later there was a suburban in a ditch. 10 miles more and you guessed it.... 3 more 4 wheel drives off the road.

4 wheel drive doesn't keep you on the road, it helps you cut a straight trail through the snow until you turn or break to hard.

5 inches here in 3 hours, then sleet/snow and freezing rain currently. Major ice tonight as temps fall, be very careful !

YIKES! We had freezing rain overnight! The worst is behind us, but we were personally only without power for about 10 hours. Getting those Pella windows this summer though payed off. Kept the house at about low 60s the whole time. :main_cool3:

I don't think I've ever seen so many downed tree limbs in my whole life. I came home at noon, which I normally never do, only to listen to the sound of tree limbs cracking and snapping all around me. Talk about a scary, helpless feeling! My son's car had the driver side rearview grazed, and it will have to be replaced cause a piece broke off. Not too bad though, considering the neighbor had their Chevy 2500 that they just got this summer get hit on the bed and it left quite a sizable dent.

I must say though, for all the downed limbs I only saw one awning damaged. At least nobody that I could see has a new skylight. Thanks God for small miracles! :main_yes:
