To be honest considering how grumpy Yoshi can get at times i think i did quite well to go a whole year and 1 year 2 months without getting bitten...but last night i just pushed him too far!

Over the past few months every time Yoshi has shed there has been a small strip on skin left on his belly. Normally i pick him up and after hes calmed down a little i slightly tilt him back so i can peel it off.

But last night he had other ideas. He just wouldnt seem to calm down and had a flailing paddy that caused me to put him down and give him a time-out.

Left him for 5 mins and then tried again and this time when he was strugling he managed to whip his head round and get me on the thumb. Thankfully i didnt panick like i was always afriad would happen and i put him back in the viv. I always thought i might hurt him if i jumped and he got flung across the room.

I guess i was lucky as i only got the side of his mouth and he didnt grab on very hard and let go straight away.

Was my own fault really but i just wanted to help him out :( I still didnt get the skin off so ill get my revenge by giving him a warm bath :p

Here is my thumb just after he bit me. It did bleed a bit as he bit a chunk of my skin off.

I hate to tell you this but that isn't a leo at all...
it is a monstrously huge flightless dragon :)
and a very handsome one at that. I hope your thumb heals well & Yoshi at least enjoyed the taste of your flesh :p

Hi Zoe.
Might I suggest any shed help on the belly
or near his :D "thing a ma Gigs" :D you do a shallow
belly soak.
Not only biting but getting hosed off will
take place pulling dry skin off that area....:main_laugh:
or even touching in some cases.:main_laugh:
If you don't feel he's a "true blue" friend,
and he appears to be a handsome,
strong jawed adult........Maybe read:
http://geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=36375

And in his strong jawed case you might
want to use a cloth gardener's glove.:D
If he bites the glove and teeth hangs up,
just let him free himself.
Take care. HJ

Now that he's had a taste of human blood, he could be dangerous to everyone. He'll first start to refuse mealworms because instead he wants HUMAN FLESH!!!!
