i have an approx. 8 month jungle ball python that i rescued about 4 months ago.

I read that by 8 months they already have they're "true" coloring and wont change much from there. He is still very bland and looks more like a light colored regular ball than a jungle ball. was i given wrong information?

generally "jungle" is referred to in the geckos, as most are born with bands, as for your "jungle" ball python, could you post a couple of pictures? it would be helpful for us to tell you, my hunch is is you payed lots of money for your ball thats actually a normal you've been royally screwed over (excuse the terrible pun).

The terminology referring to thier color patterns changes and/or varies over time. I don't think there are jungle balls anymore and by that description it could be a pastel, super pastel, ghost, yellowbelly, even a pinstripe, bee, or spider. So a photo means alot more than a brief description.

Looks like just a normal to me with a nice bit of patterning.
If you were expecting more yellow you may be thinking of a pastel.
Which can dull out over time to look like a normal.

exactly..a jungle is just a pattern. It is still a normal. It is like jungle/aberrant fat tail geckos or leopard geckos...a "jungle" is just a pattern not an actual "morph"

This is a pastel (they use to be refereed to as pastel jungles, but they dropped the jungle part of the name many years ago)

yes!!! that's what we want our to look like! he is a lot more yellow right after a shed but get browner or darkens up. that's his pattern for sure.

do they get to be the same size as a normal? are there any differences between them and a normal besides pattern and color?

sorry alejandro i thought you were the OP when i replied, Silly of me, but glad to see I was thinking right when I replied first, as for the pastel I would have thought at 8 months the colour would be pretty determined? A picture would be helpfull, but it could just be a browned out pastel only way to tell for certain would be to test breed surely?
