OK so I am going to start by saying this right now I am a nervous Nellie. I just Got a wonderful little Snow Blazing Blizzard (poss. Giant) from a reptile expo here in NH from a breeder and I am Very new to owning Leopard geckos.
She Her hatch date is 9/13/13 (hee hee) making her aprox. 4months and 15days old. we got her on 1/26/14 so we have had her for aprox. 2 days we got her in her tank right about now on sunday 26th
Now I know they can take a while to settle in and get comfortable but she hasn't eaten. I have plastic lid in her cage with mealworms ( I put 8 of them in there)) and she hasn't eaten any of them.
I am not TOO worried at this point like I said I know its going to take some time for her to get used to her new cage. her tail looks nice and I don't want to handle her to make her eat something I want her to get settled in on her own terms. She spends time on bolth her Rocks, wet hide, and her cold side hide. ( she LOVES her wet hide)
So I guess my question is when SHOULD I start to worry?? Cuz it seems like every time I worry about something with my adult Leopard Gecko like the next day he like puts my mind to rest about what ever it was I was worried about. I cant give you a weight cuz I don't have a digi scale atm and my kid stole my kitchen scale for her cooking class. But her tail looks nice. She pooped the first night she was here. I have a UTH with slate tile on top of that to hold the heat and a black heat light on the same side as the uth.( I have to juust to keep the temp right.)
Sorry I am not to good at getting my ideas out in any sort of orderly fashion and thanks again all

fro the moment, you dont have anything to worry about :D my geckos (when i brought them home) varied extremely with when they started eating, i have had geckos start eating less then an hour after arriving home, and some that ate two mealworms over the course of a month before they started pigging out! :) you just have to give her time and patience, and she should start eating soon. i hope this helps alleviate some of your worries! and btw, that is a geogeous gecko!

Yeah just watch out for the tail plumpness. My boy eats very little too like just 2 crickets or 3 superworms a week but still has a fat tail. Can be nervewracking for a new owner though but i assure you she's just fine, look at that tail, it's not even close to being skinny :D

In addition to moving stress, alot of leos stop eating around shed-time....and yours 'loves the moist hide'. So thats possibly another reason not to eat right now. :)

She was doing something funny tonight she came outta her Humid hide I have three slate tiles on her hot hide with her UTH underneithe it. But she started to like I don't know Rubbing her self around her tiles (now these are tiles I took from my other leos tank and Boiled for like ten min or so) I ALSO have seen her doing this ON her Humid hide and her cold hide. I am assumeing that this some type of scent marking?? thanks all

haha! what she is most likely doing right now is beggining to shed! they rub on EVERYTHING in their tanks when they do that, and it can be quite comical to watch :D if she does shed soon (im assuming that she will) she will probably be much brighter in color. but just be sure to keep your eyes open for stuck shed on toes and tail tips, as that can constrict the toe or tail cuasing her to lose those parts! just be aware of that, and you should be good :)

^^^+1...agree with dinosaur, and I think I guessed it right. Spending that time in the moist hide is consistent with shedding, and shedding is consistent with "reduced appetite" in some, especially as they get older, Leo's. D is right about watching for stuck shed and the overall process being entertaining. :)

Thanks again all I tossed a small cricket in there last night and couldn't find him a few hours latter. Well he came out this morning and imust have set a piece of tile on him or something cuz he was all one sided scooting around. well she was chilling out on her tile and he made the mistake of scooting infront of her and well she snatched that right up. I own another Leo but I got him as adult. So I haven't been realy sure of what to expect from a juvie like her. you have been Great thank you so much. Going to put some other pics of her up tonight
