Someone correct me if I'm wrong but D3 is what is needed for leos to process calcium. Not sure if you've read or not but since I'm pretty new, I read a lot! What I saw the most was that people would dust with Calcium w/d3 2 or 3 times a week. Some people would leave straight calcium in a dish in the tank. It's up to you what you want to use. Neither is "better" than the other.

You can overload them on D3, which can become toxic in high concentrations. This is the reason for only dusting with D3 a few times a week. I recommend the Repashy Calcium Plus. It's a great all in one supplement.

I know this is off-topic from the OP but have you read about this in a forum you can link me to? I've read people that have said this, but I've also read where people left calcium with D3 in the tank for years and never had a problem.

Thanks in advance

Sure thing. There's this thread on this very site. This one here. All combined with the fact that D3 is a fat soluble vitamin, rather than water soluble. What this means is that your body (or your leos) will store it up and use it as needed, not excreting the rest like water soluble vitamins (like Vit B series).
