So today I just bought my first leopard gecko from Pet Supplies, so my first question is: are they reputable for this kind of thing? I'm hoping it will live happy and healthy...

Second question: I'm pretty sure mine is a female, based on what I've read online. I'm also pretty sure mine is a juvenile, so how old will it have to be until I find out definitively?

Third, how can I tell what specific morph of leopard gecko she is?

Okay, so here's my setup: 10 gallon tank (no cover, I read that it isn't necessary) with a small heat pad under one side (the side with the little hideout she sleeps in). The hideout is covered by a piece of fabric, I made it out of a small see-through tupperware container. I have a little stone water dish and then on the "cool" side I have a small see-through tupperware container with nothing covering it and a hole cut out, it's lined on the inside with moist paper towel. The whole enclosure is lined on the bottom with paper towel as well. I have silk foliage all around the center (can there be TOO MUCH fake foliage in the enclosure?).

I've been trying to feed her small mealworms, I want to start feeding at midnight using Fluker's Calcium with Vitamin D3 powder and my friend recommended feeding her six a day but so far she's only eaten one or two since I fed her this afternoon, when I THINK she may have eaten one (hard to tell, she doesn't like to eat when I'm watching her). I plan on changing out the water and paper towels every morning, I've read about misting but my friend told me that isn't necessary.

So there's my complete situation, if I'm doing anything wrong yet please let me know and if you have ANY suggestions I'm BEGGING for advice, anything to keep Lia (that's what I named her) happy, healthy and secure in her new home. :)

First of all, congratulations on your new gecko! Do you have a picture of the sweetheart?

With pet stores it's hit and miss with the health of the reptiles they carry. Does she look like she has some weight on her? Do you have a pic?

Probably around 3 or 4 months it would be easier to determine your leopard geckos gender.

Research! Try researching morphs on this site. Or I'm sure someone more experienced than I with morphs could tell you if you post a picture.

Congrats again on your leo! It's exciting! You'll find the members here to be helpful! I suggest reading through posts others have made. You'll learn a lot! (There's a "search" button in the top orange bar)

Aww! She's cute! What I would do is move the moist hide to the hot side, find something to cover the moist hide to retain the humidity and move the water to the cool side. And with supplements I like to dust every feeding with Repashy Superfoods Calcium Plus for Leopard Geckos. If you use that every feeding then there is no need for a calcium dish in the enclosure or additional supplements. You also need to gutload your feeders. Fluker's High Calcium Cricket Diet and the Fluker's water gel is good. I'm going to be switching to the repashy bug burger. Don't use Calcium with D3 at every feeding, they can get D3 Toxicity REALLY easy and it can kill them. You can also oversupplement on the Calcium. I HIGHLY recommend the Calcium Plus for Leopard Geckos, because it is SO much easier when it comes to supplementing. If you have any questions feel free to message me. :) Here's my little one, Ozymandias AKA Ozy :D He's a Blizzard Leopard Gecko.
