Hi, I just bought this gecko for around $30. I was wondering what morph he or she is.

The pic makes it look bigger than it really is, it's about 4 inches long. So its still pretty young.

Will this gecko keep these colors these rest of it's life? Or do they change as he gets older?

Here's a pic..sorry for the quality, but you should be able to tell.

I don't understand genetics or morphs at all. I just googled SHTCTB(what does it stand for?) leopard gecko and it looks like mine too. They both do.

edit - OH! Super hypo tangerine carrot tail? What does the B stand for?
I was just about to make a new post saying I thought it was super hypo tangerine carrot tail, because I googled it more and thats what it looks like.

Although, I don't see a difference between a carrot tail and a non carrot tail. Also, what does the "super" mean?

Also, what is the market for these guys? I bought mine for $30.

Super Hypo Tangerine Carrot Tail Baldy, although yours would not be a baldy due to the head spots. I'm not too sure I would call that a carrot tail, but it really is a matter of opinion, as Maurice said :)

People don't call my kind of leo a sht do they? It's just a Super Hypo tangerine, i guess I'll leave the carrot tail part out. I'll tell people I have Super hypo tangerine instead.

Well thanks for the ID guys. So it's definately A super hypo tangerine. Gotcha =)

Lol k, that's kind of cool for me. Because my other leo is just a normal. So I feel left out not having some kind of "cool" morph.

edit- not to say that my normal leo isn't cool, he/she is very cool

CT is in the eye of the beholder pretty much. It depends on HOW MUCH orange is on the tail, as well as how it is presented. It cannot be broken up by spots, or lighter tail color showing through.

Steve and Debra have some AWESOME animals. The tangerine tornados you are seeing are a specific TYPE of SHTCTB that exhibits more of an orange/red body and head coloration. It originated at TUG (The Urban Gecko) Here is the link to their description on their site:

Steve's animals are also not juveniles for the most part. If you look closely, you'll see most of the animals for sale are even at breeding weight, something that is factored into the price.

I'm thinking just SHT, doesn't look like carrot tail. There's a white spot in the orange.
