Was out picking blackberries with my boychild, and found 5 of these bugs in one spot (2 pair, plus an extra female).they're two-striped walkingsticks, and just plain neat.my son decided that we just HAD to keep some of them, so we put a pair of them in each tarantula tank. I've kept them as pets before, super easy to take care of.this its the lone female that we let go, so she can find herself a mate. 2012-05-12_17-15-34_573.jpg 2012-05-12_17-16-19_0.jpg

Awesome find! Insects are fascinating pets if you can get over the creep factor

Thats so Cool! Yesterday I found 2 Toads. A Baby and its Mother ( Im Assuming ). Any way I tried to feed them meal worms and they shot acid at me. Beware of Toads. ( If you ever see one don't pick it up, The Oil on our Fingers will damage them so use gloves, Touching there skin can also harm you if they carry Parasites, Acid, Chemicals.

Cool bugs! Aren't you worried about the tarantulas eating them?
Jacob - I pick up toads all the time, and have never had them shoot acid at me (although I get peed on alot). I'm kind of curious, how exactly did that work? And while it's true most amphibians shouldn't be handled regularly because they absorb our toxins through their skin, wild toads don't see humans enough for that to be a problem, imo.

Well I put them in a Critter Carrier and the Baby was Panicing ALOT. The Mother Allowed the baby to crawl under her so she was like a form of shelter but eventually the mother was frightened and started leaking a liquid from her back. The Meal worm started to roll around in it and some how died. I left them go after that.

The housing situation was only temporary, until I found some gallon pickle jars I had stashed away. The stickbugs were bigger than the tarantulas, so I wasn't too terribly worried about possible predation
