Hey guys hopefully someone can help me out...

I just got my first Leo abt 3-4 weeks ago and I loved her so much i got another yesterday. I also built an entirely new cage, a 20GL(so they were both put in the new cage for the first time together) and my housing is perfect (hot/cold/humid hide, tile, right temps ect.)

The first one is a girl and is slightly larger than the next. I got the new one to eat 2 mealworms yesterday but today he/she (hopefully a she) hasnt eaten yet.
Yesterday Goomba bit the new leo while i was feeding, nothing bad just an "f off" bite and gave the new guy one today as well that I saw when the new one was stepping over goomba.

Now, do you think I have to worry about her not eating yet? I've taken her out and tried handfeeding her with no luck, just shies away from the food.

Thanks guys

First you should always quarantine new geckos. Second no matter how hard the bite is that is a sign you should seperate them. The gecko is probably stressed so she/ he wont eat. Depending on age and size you might have 2 males also. I would seperate them and give the new one time to relax. Good luck

From what I understand, moving a gecko to a new environment (especially babies) tends to be a stressful ordeal, and sometimes they won't eat for a few days to a week.

Also, if your leos are showing aggression, especially during meal time, you will probably have to separate them. I have seen some pretty nasty pictures of injuries from tank-mates. =/

If money is an issue, a cheap sterlite tub with good floor dimensions, cheap hides made from clean household stuff, and an UTH from amazon is pretty affordable. (Surprised I haven't filled the house with geckos yet)

Edit: Ah, Christina beat me to the punch. =3

Yea I've had reptiles my whole life, I'm just a little worried cause I haven't ever housed 2 in the same enclosure before.

I'm sure the original gecko is female, the newest is just a little young and I can't sex it yet...

So I guess my best bet is to wait it out a few days, my guess is it's not eating because of stress... worst comes to worst I'll have to return the new animal

Well the size isnt THAT different. The new gecko is slightly thinner and only a little smaller... not even a half inch smaller.

I'll update as it changes

Why would you return it, just get a new cheap 10/20 gal and use household stuff like was said if you really want another one?, besides your not going to be able to return it with injuries...wouldnt be surprised if you see a tail around your cage if you 'wait' it out. try and do as suggested man and seperate why take the risk?

well you have been given good advice. You can do with it whatever you want. I feel for the gecko. Don't be surprised when you see a bigger bite or worse a dead gecko. Oh and you can't return a gecko just because you didnt want to put it in seperate tanks and it got injured. They only take it back for health problems not irresponsible ownership.

Well... There are no injuries. If he doesn't eat today I am gonna seperate using the old 10 gallon tank I have.

Thanks everyone. If it starts eating and looking healthy would it be okay to return it to the cage?

Hey all... little update. I decided to try to feed one more time before separating and the new guy at 4 meal worms in one sitting. Do you think separating is still necessary if it keeps this up? and no signs of aggression today and I fed them in the same enclosure...

yes, you still need to separate them, i really dont understand why havent u done it yet... if u didnt saw signs of aggression today it doesnt mean it wont happen anymore, so please, take the advice and separate em, they re gonna compete for food and heat... as somenone told you already: if you are not taking advice, please dont ask for it, you should do the best for your animals, not what pleases you.
