I ran up to the store and I got a u.t.h. 30 gallon heating pad for my 29 gallon tank and I got a westek touch pad dimmer, also I got som e calcium powder, is there and thing I should no before I hook it up? lol. And should I just leave a dish of some calcium powder? What if they have to much what will happen?

Good on the UTH just make sure to check the temps still, those are supposed to be the right amoutn of heat for the tank size but check them pretty often just to be safe.

Yes, leave the cali dish in all the time, they self regulate the amount they need.

Thanks you I just hooked every thing up and it is 78 on the cool side and 88 in the warm. Any thing eles I should no? :main_thumbsup:

sounds good, 90-92 on the hot is better but since you jsut hooked it up it may raise up a little.

Well I put it on high and its at 86 does it get any hotter?

you need soemthign like this for your UTH, you just get teh size that is made for your tank size

well I pluged it in with out the light dimmer and it worked fine, ahahah I want to get a reptitemp 500r from zoomed are they ok?

they are OK if you want a cheap thermostat get an ESU

ok cool so what is better? Because I was that you can get a reptitemp for 25 on the internet.

you can usually find the ESU on ebay for about $25 too, Ive never used a repti temp but I haev used the ESU and they work pretty good.

and by the time youg et it online for $25 plus shipping you have the $30 in it anyway.

the thinkg i liek is the ESU had a number dial so you ptu it on 91 and leave it the repti has a cool to hot so you have to guess and keep checking temps til you get it where you want it.

yes, they haev a ligth to let you know they are heating, the green is always on to show power and the red lights up when its sending pwoer to the heating device.
