Just Shedded, Now Has Pink Nose

My leopard gecko, Zephyr just shedded and I realised that the skin around his nose is a bright pink. I used a moist ear swab and rubbed at his nose, thinking that maybe there was some skin stuck there, but no skin came off, and he protested a lot.
I'll post a picture tomorrow (right now I should really be in bed) but does anyone have any suggestions as to what might of happened? I'm beginning to think that he may have rubbed his nose a lot while he was shedding, and has possibly develloped a rash.

A photo will help but often times after a shed the underlying skin is a little lighter or brighter than before, nothing abnormal at all. But post a pic to be safe.
