So I just got a new juvenile leopard gecko two days ago. Im not sure of his exact age, and as im new to leopard geckos im not really sure. But anyways Im kinda freaking out because I have been doing some research on what else he can eat and read that your not supposed to feed juveniles mealworms. and I have been. I tried to feed him some small crickets yesterday but he wouldnt eat them and today he ate 4 meal worms. Is this bad? Should I not be feeding him mealworms? Someone said something about them eating their way outta his stomach!?

Mealworms are fine to feed. If thats what he likes let him chow down.
Did you by chance hear that "mealworms can chew threw your leos stomach"?? Don't worry, mealworms are not a problem to feed to your leo. Just make sure they are gut loaded and dusted w/vitamins and calcium as needed.

Im so glad. and it was out of his stomach. which freaked me out. but im glad that they wont harm him. Hes still pretty skitish and getting comfortable but he snaps them up whenever i give him one.

It can be overwhelming at times with the amount of information out on the net. Mealworms are just fine.

It is veryy overwhelming. People saying different things and all kinds of different information is being thrown around and I just want my little guy to be happy and healthy.

I understand your feeling of being overwhelmed with all of the contradicting information out there about the care of leopard geckos. I can assure you that mealworms will not eat through your leo's stomach, I have read and done some research on all kinds of different leo issues and many people feed their leos on a staple of mealworms only. Many well known breeders only use mealworms for their leos as well. Most people on this forum are honest and willing to help, so don't be afraid to ask questions. Also, take as much advice as you can from here, but make the decision that you feel comfortable with. I hope your leo is doing good and he looks great in your pic.

Thats the exact reason that I joined. Everybody here is so nice and give some great advice. My little guy, which ive named Dougie for some odd reason, seems to like the mealworms so ill just stick to them and try some crickets every now and then. He looks good? I wasnt sure if he seemed skinny, but then again he is a baby. Just want him healthy
