So quick question- How'd I keep my mealworms active?
soon as I put um in the dish they play dead ><!
and since my Leo looks for movement its annoying watching her look for ages?
I sometimes put a piece of carrot in the bowls for the mealworms to eat while they're in there. It keeps them moving around. I try to keep the carrot piece large enough though so that the gecko hopefully won't be able to eat it on accident when going for any mealworms that may be crawling on it.
How many days can a mealworms be in a feeding dish and still be alive and healthy to eat for our leopard gecko? I wasn't sure if I was supposed to take uneaten mealworms out the next day, or if they can stay in the dish for another day (or 2)?
I'm mainly thinking in terms of care when we are away on vacation. Can we have a friend load up the dish with 3 days of mealworms and just do that every three days (or 2), or do mealworms need to be swapped out every day?
