I figured since I had to clean out the cricket's cage, I'd clean Kirin's tank too... Unhappy little gecko, but he'll have to get used to it eventually... He's still not eating though, and I'm worried :main_huh: Should I be?

His set up:

He doesn't look thin? I'm worried about him not eating anything yet... Am I just being a worry wort?

First off you need to stop bugging him, ie cleaning his tank and handling him :p Let him settle in to his new surroundings. Then after he starts eating and is comfortable then start handling and bugging him :)

Hope this helps! I know getting a new animal is so exciting, and you worry about every little thing. At least i do :p

I haven't bugged him too much... well, I cleaned the tank out today, but the paper towel had something on it, and the crickets in there were bugging me... I know it sounds like I annoy him, but I promise, I don't :)

I know a lot of animals won't eat for a week or so when you first get them (ok, not a lot, but some fish won't) but he's so small... and our banded gecko ate pretty much all the time and he was a lot younger. I just worry... I bought him at a chain store, and I am always wary of their reptiles just because of how some of them look in the cages...

I understand! My leos (my adults) wouldn't eat for a long while when I got them. But then they finally ate.

I personally would get a dish of mealies in there for him. Then he can eat whenever he pleases.

Has he pooped yet?

one tiny little bit a couple days ago but none since. he's got a little lid of mealies in there.... the most i bug him in a day is to replace the carrot and clean out the water dish.
