Labeling tubs??

Ok, I've been trying to figure out some way to keep all the info on a tub that I really want there about a certain animal that can be removed and moved to a new tub easily.

Normally all my tubs just have a label with the animals' name/ID on it and then I use a dry erase marker for other info like dates fed, shed, etc. However sometimes this is not enough info for me because I can't remember every animals history off the top of my head so I end up having to check records.

So here's what I came up with. I've got 500 ordered along with the cards to go into them.

The clips grab onto the tubs perfectly and they can't be accidently knocked off!! :main_thumbsup: The cards measure 4" X 3" and I've already got my templete ready to print on them when they arrive. :)

Thats very clever, Fe! I've been trying to figure out an efficient system for a couple years now. That looks like it would work great!
Can you keep track of feedings, shed, etc. with those? Or do you have a record book you go by for that?

Sweet!! I am insane about record keeping and LOVE this idea!!! Some people think I'm OCD but really I am CDO (you have to keep letters in alphabetical order...lol!)

Currently I have those library card holders taped to the side with an index card of info. But they need to be removed everytime I clean the tubs and you have to pull out the card to see who's who!! What an AWESOME idea!! Thanks for sharing!

As of right now I have a record book that I transfer all the data into before I start switching and cleaning tubs out. But I have the Degei Pro program with barcode system that I just haven't started using yet, so I'll be adding the barcodes to the back of these for our animals. We won't start using it till we are all in one house.

I'll be putting something on the back of these for record keeping for now.

CDO!!! I love it!! I've used index cards and I hate them!! They fall down they get wet, get missplased, pushed back all the way into a rack and you can't find them. I gave up and started writing on the tubs with the dry markers so I didn't loose the info. lol

That looks similar to the card holders we have, except ours stick right to the tubs. As long as I pull out the paper card then the holder can even survive the dishwasher. We were only using our cards for keeping track of eating when ovulation started. Everything else goes into a software program.

I've thought about using something that sicks on the tubs but they would take forever to dry and I realy don't have the room to have them stacked in a way to allow for those to dry when I'm washing 100's at a time.
