lack of oxygen = mold?

If you don't give air exchanges often enough for the eggs when they're being incubated, can mold start to grow?

Well, yes. BUT! Any organic material that is decomposing and in a warm, humid environment will start to mold as well. Adequate air supply and ventilation will suppress the growth of mold, but there is a fine line between too much ventilation (eggs will dry up) and not enough (eggs will mold).m

Moldy eggs usually means: 1.) the egg is not viable, or 2.) there is too much moisture.

I clearly see what you are saying Marcia. I candled the eggs and they still look good and the perlite to water ratio is 1:.8. That's the only reason that led me to believe that I wasn't circulating the air enough.
