Large Tank Options

I'm not sure if this counts as a housing or breeding question, so I'm posting in both.
I recently acquired a 70gal tank, and only have one female gecko. This tank is way to huge for just her. I currently have her in a 15gal tank, which has lots of things to entertain her, but she enjoys roaming a lot. But the 70gal is still huge, so I was thinking of getting another gecko, but what to get, male or female. I know by getting a male I must be prepared for breeding, but I'm thinking of giving it a shot (next year obviously).
What what my thought is is to turn the 70gal tank into two tanks kind of. Have heat at both ends with a cold end in the middle, but then have a separator in the middle that can be opened to allow access to the other half of the tank. If I do this I would get the male and keep him separate when he needs to be, but open the partition when he doesn't.
So when breeding, how often is the male left with the female? This would be my first time breeding.
But does this seem like a reasonable idea, or should I just get another female, or should I just abandon the large tank and get a smaller one?

that would work excelently. I once had to seperate 2 of my females so i went to my hard ware store and bought a piece of plexi glass and foam tape. what you do is you put 2 pieces of the foam tape and put it verticaly and leave a space between them like this | | and slide the plexi glass in between. you might need to do this 2 or 3 times spacing them out a bit. It is like having 2 tanks and you can remove it :)
hope this helps,
john
