Last Stretch of Incubation

I have been keeping a close eye on my egg and see it's getting dark inside as the body is forming. Does anyone have any pictures of candled eggs on the last stage of incubation? I know the dark spot will continue to grow until you almost can't see anything, but I'd like a visual to compare mine to.

I suggest leaving the egg alone after time you'll know if it's infertile or not by just the way it looks. Moving the egg around to much can mess up the embryo. Besides there are video's on youtube that show that i remember watching a video from geckoecko candling his egg and you can see the baby moving in there.

I candle my eggs about once a week to watch the progress. As long as you are extremely careful when moving and replacing it, ensuring it is in the same exact position as when you picked it up, once a week is alright for candling.

you dont have to move the egg to candle it, just use a small key chain LED flashlight. moving the egg to candle it is a stupid risk to take, because if you drop the egg or roll it you can kill the embyro. i dont move egg at all to candle it, just put the flashlight on one side of the egg and check the progress about once or twice a week.

+1 to reptileman! I do the same thing..get a LED keychain at Target or wally world and just put it next to the egg...when it no longer glows basically the light goes nowhere then your real close! works best with ALL the lights off in the room!
