I know there are lavendar bells/people working on those. Are there pastel bells or ghost bells? Would lavendar bells be what we would call a pastel bell? Could there even be a ghost bell? Or would that be the same as pastel? I thought maybe anyone breeding bells to get the tang out might be able to help. Pics of what might be considered a pastel or ghost etc would be neat too.

I'm working on Mack Snow Pastel Ghost Bells and will definitely post pics when I succeed.

Paul from Bright Albino has a Lavender Ghost Bell for sale and if it was a female I'd snatch it up...

Pat from Luxurious Leopards line of Hybino Snow Bells originate from a Mack Snow Ghost het Bell...

This male from my BSB (Black Spot Bell) project is a Mack Pastel Bell...

He has faded considerably since this picture...

Paul's are the first lavendars I've seen. I didn't realize he had a ghost bell, but I wonder how an adult looks. Some of our bells are hatching out light like his so I'm trying to figure out if they would be lavendars or called pastel. Some of his are so light lavendar, imo I would call them pastel.
How do you classify your male as a pastel? Lighter spotting or background? I suppose how does one classify any morph as pastel or ghost? That might help in general I guess.

Paul's Lavender Bells are Pastels. His line of Pastels are gorgeous as non albinos and I think he calls them Lavender Pastels. I don't know how they came about so it'd be best to leave any further explanation of them to him.

Mack Pastels originated from John and Amy Mack's collection and IMO are not just a by product of the Mack Snows. They generally hatch out very high yellow and black with the first band usually being faded. The non albino ones darken up after a few sheds and stay dark for a couple months. After the dark phase the bright yellow comes back, but fades to a pastel yellow at around six months. Mack Pastel Albinos do not seem to go through the dark phase and they fade at around six months as well. I'm just starting to hatch babies I suspect to be Mack Pastel Blizzards, but they're also my first Blizzards to hatch so I need more time to come to any conclusion on them.

Mack Pastel traits are:

1.) Hatch bright yellow and usually the first band is partially faded
2.) Have a lighter colored head than the body
3.) Have a Mack Snow background color (explains why bright babies become faded)
4.) Body blotches that were originally black bands and haven't turned yellow are white

They seem to work as a dominant morph where 50% Mack Pastels hatch from Mack Pastel x WT (Without Trait). Hatchlings from my Mack Pastel x Mack Pastel pairings are too young to tell if I'm getting 100% Mack Pastels, but it looks promising.

Ghosts are also a dominant morph that sometimes go by the name Dominant Hypo. They originated from Ray Hines' collection.
