lay box bedding

was wondering if coco fiber would work as bedding for the laybox?

I tried it with my female a while back. she kept digging in it andpushing it out of the door and making a mess. other than that, she was fine in it.

yeah some people perfer it. I use vermiculite.

To answer your question, yes. It will work just fine. But be prepared for a mess if your female likes to dig.

thats a new one... so how do you set up the paper towels?

I use gladware containers with a hole in the top, fold the papertowel to fit in the container, and then wet it down. I'm basically using the moist hide. I try not to add too much water when i'm expecting eggs. Incase i don't catch them right away, i don't want them sitting in a pool. I prefer the papertowel method because there's no mess like with most mediums, they don't eat it like with some mediums, and i don't have to dig for eggs. I just scan the containers with a flashlight and know if there's eggs or not. its kinda nice when half your females are getting ready to lay and your constantly checking for eggs. :main_thumbsup:

If you make a hole on the top of the laybox they usually can't kick out the coco fiber. It's the lay box substrate I preffer.
