Lay eggs on towels

If I put mealworm beetles on paper towels, would they still lay eggs? Thanks

Why don't you just use the mealworm gutload/bedding?

No, I will regular bedding. But when I dont need eggs then I want to keep them somewere else. Maybe it was a stupid thought. I am just going to get like 4 10 gallon tanks. Can anyone post what they use in there bedding? I made some today, but I wanna know what others use.

Well what I do is keep them on my mealworm gutload, then when they turn into beetles and I see little tiny baby mealworms I remove the beetles into a new tub, 16qt shoebox and go from there.
