I have 1.4 set up and have seen them breeding.Lately the moist hide I have has been dug up in one corner. It has 2-2.5" of vermiculite in it.I am thinking they want to lay,but am not sure if this is good enough for them.

Don't worry. It will be good enough for them. Some of my females like to check things out before they actually lay the eggs.
I had one female (with her first clutch) that dug for an entire week before she finally layed her eggs in the vermiticlite. It drove me crazy just waiting and watching the mess she made.

Best of luck,
Carin

I agree, you shouldn't need to worry.. We also have had females dig for days and days, up to a week, before laying :) The digging is a good sign, though, and they will be laying soon! Best wishes and good luck!

Some do, some don't. We had one female that burried her eggs under 4-5 inches of substrate, and another who kicked all of the substrate from one end of the laybox, only to lay where there wasn't any. She then proceeded to lay on top of the eggs herself, lol. Every female is different :) Good luck!
