Leg Injury

One of my females have ha this for a while, I will have to look back in my records if its really important. It (as you can see) is a spot on her back leg. I almost looks like a birthmark, but is two toned. A lot of cancerous things have the two tone to them. I sent a picture to the local vet, he said it looks like a birth mark, but could also be cancerous. He said that even if I take her in and it is cancer, theres nothing they can do. Apparently, gecko chemotherapy doesn't exist yet. Has anyone ever seen this? She runs like any gecko and it doesn't affect her at all. Is just looks to be skin level. Enough explaining, here is the image. Sorry its blurry, its hard to get pictures when shes biting my hands.:main_laugh:

Although the image is blurry, it either looks like a birthmark or a burn. But not 100% sure. How long has she has it exactly?

I am 200% positive it not a burn. It been there since early august. It hasn't changed much if at all. Like I said, it is definitely just the skin. It doesn't feel any differnt from the skin around it.

It doesn't look like a "birth mark" to me. Geckos birth marks are usually what we refer to as a paradox spot. That doesn't look like any paradox I've seen. If the vet can't do anything if it's cancer, then I wouldn't take it to the vet.

However, it could be a paradox mark, depending on the age of the gecko, that will help us know if it's a paradox since they seem to develope when the gecko is still in it's juvie stage. So knowing the age will help a bunch!

Hope it does ok! Good luck with it!

I take that back, I was just looking at this thread: http://www.geckoforums.net/showthread.php?t=14908&highlight=mark and some of the parodox spots have a dark lining around them. Does it look like pigment? If you look at the spots in the thread, you can see they are all pigmented looking, what I mean is blotchy...

Yes, it definitely is not a paradox spot. I have many geckos that have full blown paradox spots (I will be attempting to get that trait out in blizzards more) and I know this is not. Its an idea, but it cant be a paradox. She is around 50 grams and is around 10-11 months old.

It looks like a bite mark to me. I've seen our leos cock up their back legs like a dog to grab their skin shedding. Maybe this one was a little over anxious and bit herself and it never healed properly.

See if you can't get a better photo us.
