Leo Appetite

My leo only eats about 6 mealies per day, and will go on a gorge where she eats 20 in one feeding about once every month. She is gaining weight but I have heard people say that 10-15 mealies is what they need. She is 4-5 years old and my question is if she is getting enough and why does she have such a wide range of how many mealies she eats?

At 5 years old her feeding "schedule" sounds about right. The gecko is no longer growing and doesn't need all that food to maintain weight. Now if she were to breed her appetite would pick up. But I say she is fine as long as she doesn't lose weight. FYI they will some times lose a few grams in the winter because they slow down their food intake, so don't be shocked if you notice that.

Thats seems ok. my hatchlings and juvies just wait to eat everynight. One of my males is about 3yrs old and will eat just a little every couple days. He's at 90 grams and doing great. They do slow down when they get older because they have stopped growing like Brian said.
