When I first got the little guy he was with about 7 other older babies in the pet shop. You could see that he had been picked on but nothing was wrong with his eyes..just a few bite marks on his back. I bought him to get him away from the older ones and put him in his tank by himself. His eyes had seemed fine, eating great, hunting everything until I went to feed him tonight. He acted like he couldnt see. So I got him out and both of his eyes were glazed over, he looks blind...Looked kinda like cataracts but it filled his entire eye. I put him back in his tank and researched online to try to find something. I saw where you can do a "blind" test by taking him in a dark room to let his eyes dialate and shine a flash light towards his eye (but not directly in them) and see if the pupils shrunk back down. So I went to get him out and one of his eyes has went back to normal? how weird is that? so I took him the bathroom and I did the blind test and his pupil dialated and shrunk back down like it was supposed to but his other eye is still glazed over? Has anyone every heard of something like this? I am going to leave him alone for tonight cause I dont want to stress him out. and I will check on his eye again tomorrow. He seems to be going into his hides ok, but still acts like he cant see at all out of that one eye. The Pet shop is a chain that has a vet on hand so I might take him back to get it a look at by them cause they will do it for free with in the 2 weeks...I was just wondering if anyone has heard of anything like this?

I didnt know that they shed skin over their eyes? wow learn something new every day...lol I guess that is a possibility of what I was seeing. it did look sorda like when my ball python starts to shed and he goes "in the blue" I thought it was extremely odd. I am just happy he is ok now!! gosh that worried me so much!!!!

I didnt think they did. I just though they shed their eyelids. snakes do cause they have scales over their eyes but i dont think that the skin over leos eyes are the same kind as their body..

Please correct me if im wrong though, that was just my understanding

I could be wrong but I've seen lots of instances of retained eye shed and assumed it was directly from their eyes and not getting there from their eyelids. Whether it comes off as a solid scale or bit by bit like human skin, the coating on their eye has to be recycled at some level...

I posted a thread about his glazed eyes coming back, and now it is back to normal again, with pictures...I can see how they can shed their eyes...but at the same time? it wouldnt do it again tonight would it have? I appreciate EVERYONES suggestions. I am going to leave the light off tomorrow to see if maybe the light is to bright with him being a type of albino (I think a rainwater) to see if he does it again tomorrow
