I don't really understand. You're trying to feed him mealworms and he's in his hide 'digging'? I have those hides too, and I've never seen them do that. Are you putting the worms in there with him?
No i pulled him out with he's hide and i took it apart and he came out and start to eat meal worms then he walk away and went to the hide and right were the hole is to go in he started to dig.Hope that help.
digging is a natural behaviour for leos. mine used to do it all the time when they were younger and kept on sand. they seemed to enjoy it.
if their not comfortable they would dig until they were lol. one of my females would make a pile of sand and lay draped over it haha
now their older and less accurate with their hunting i keep them on carpet, so they dig in their moss instead lol
