Leo Has Wound! Help!

My poor girl has a hard time catching crickets so I always feed her with tweezers. I fed her last night and just noticed today that she has a pretty deep red, indent on the tip of her nose. It doesn't seem to bother her but it looks painful and it really bothers me! I took a q-tip and gently patted it down with warm water to clean it. She shed a few days ago so it was not from shedding, and the indent matches the tweezers.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Anything I should or should NOT do?

Will it heal?

Anything you can tell me that will put my mind at ease would be very much appreciated!

if its small and on the tip of her nose, i wouldn't use any topical ointments or anything. she's just going to lick it off. i would keep an eye on it for signs of infection. if it stays pink and fleshy looking, it will eventually shed out. if it gets red, inflamed, or gets worse and worse, she might need to see a vet. it was probably just a cricket bite or maybe she got the end of the tweezers during feeding. it will more than likely heal with no problems and no scarring. just keep it clean and she should be fine. warm water will work

Thanks for the quick reply. It's not a cricket bite, it's from the tweezers for sure, when she lunged at the cricket. I'll keep a close eye on it and take her to the vet if needed. Again, thanks!

I have found that taking the big jumper legs off my crx makes it SOOOO much easier for my guys to catch the little buggers! have you tried that to slow the crx down?

+1 on this, i also put them in a small ash tray as they have no jumping legs they cant get out, and its easier to see how many they eat! Also no chasing loose crickets that aren't eaten! :)

Thanks everyone! I haven't tried taking the legs off but I'll give it a try! @Roy the crickets can't crawl out of the ashtray? I'll give that a try as well! I feel better now!

Also, putting in the fridge for a little while before feeding them off helps. They move slower when they are cooled.
