Some may have read my posts about Rio before.

She still hasn't eaten and it now 3 month, she started of at 83g's when she went on hunger strike she is now 73g's.

This thing is if you didn't know she wasn't eating and looked at her you think she looks great. Nice fat tail. She does look a little slender in body but nothing serious.

She did see a rep vet he said she was gravid, she wasn't.

I now starting to think she will never eat again.
any thought would be great.

Thanks

Maybe see another vet for a second opinion?

When you were at the vet the first time, did he take a poop sample to check for parasites?

If it gives you any hope, my gecko Mango did not eat for 6 months, she was sick and was being treated for parasites by her vet, it took a few cycles of medication but she eventually pulled through, this was about a year ago. It took alot longer for her to recover because due to the lack of food she developed a vitamin A deficiency which made her eyes go cloudy (they are back to normal now, we just had to put cream in her eyes twice a day, along with the parasite medications), so I would suggest putting some vitamins in water and making sure she gets some so this doesn't happen to her. My gecko was the same as yours, very minimal weight loss, never lost the chunky tail, just slimmed down a little.

Not sure about your gecko, but everytime mine goes to the vet she is really scared so she takes a huge poop all over the vet, and thats how they collected her sample. Because same as yours, mine wasnt pooping because she wasnt eating, but the vet seemed to scare it out of her.

Have you tried mushing up some worms and letting her lick it from a syringe? Maybe she can eat enough to poop once. If you go to the vet they will give you a bottle with preservatives in it so that if she poops during hours when they vet isnt open you can put it in the bottle and it will still be a good sample. Because they longer you leave the poop they more inaccurate the results become.

Most of my females will stop eating when they are ovulating. Some also slow down or go off food during the winter.

she won't lick anything off her nose tryed that when she was dehydrated early in the year.

Will see if I can find another Rep vet, but have no money for till the 8th May.

Someone on another forum did say to try Repti boost, but she doesn't drink much from her bowl mainly lick the tissue in the humid hide.
