Hi,
Im very new to leos and I picked up this beautiful male tremper giant rapter.
he seems to be such a sweet boy. Im just wondering if these leopard geckos are generally friendly, or what their personalities are like in general.
I alsp have a regular leopard gecko that is a baby and is very nippy and bity. I thought most leos were like that, but my new giant seems much more mellow. My tremper is about 70g.
Just wondering about different personalities in leos.
Thanks

Is the giant an adult? They mellow out as they get older. Some leos are super sweet and some are just jerks their whole lives lol. Just depends on the gecko

They all have different personalities, if I remember correctly, the younger they are the sassier they can be.

I have some that will walk up to the sides of the cage and greet me when I walk in. I have others that would rather hide from me.
My male bell will always greet me by looking up at me. He looks at me ALL THE TIME. And he's just a sweet heart.
My SHTCTB will look at me, but doesn't come out to greet me. She's a sweet heart to hold and real passive most of the time.
My high yellow female is all bark and no bite. She will squeak at me, attack my temp gun, toss her hides all over the place if I have to mist her humid hide, but once I'm holding her, she's just as sweet as can be.

I have 4 downstairs that will let me hold them, greet me, but don't make it always easy for me to get to them.
But out of those 4, I have one that would climb the walls of her cage if she could just so I'd hold her.

They're all different. And that goes with every aspect of them, too, especially eating.

Im not sure how old he is, I just know he weighs 70g He seems pretty mellow so far or at least I can tell he will be once hes used to me. Today he climbed up my arm and sat on my head while I read my emails and seeemd pretty content. He is always out never really hides. He is really funny I gave him some large superworms that I had from my beardie, he licked and tasted them and would not eat them. Then I gave him some wax worms and he chowed those. He seems to have quite a personality, its very interesting. I never knew that about leos.

Haha, its cute when they sit on your head. Have you tried giant meal worms?

Be careful not too feed too many wax worms. They are super fatty. They are used more as a treat. I'll give my leos a few waxies like once a month
