Leo Pricing

Well this seems the best place to post this, so here goes.

I've just been doing research around various gecko breeders looking at prices and I'm curious how all of you determine price on your geckos. I've seen SHT's for as 85 dollars and even some as much as 400. It's sort of got me confused how people determine the prices. I've got a 2.1 (or 1.2...which way is 2 females 1 male?) of SHCT's that I'm going to start breeding, so it's sort of a research thing for me to figure out how people price their leo's. Do you base it on color? Bloodline? etc?

Thanks,
Shaun

Shaun, there are many factors involved when pricing. For me, the rarer the morph, the more expensive it is. By rare in terms of SHTCTB's, I mean the least amount of patterning, the deeper the orange coloration, and the amount of carrot-tail. Also, breeders who are well established and have good reputations can demand more for their geckos than "Joe Blow's Geckos" on the classifieds. Right now, there are a zillion hypo-tangerines for sale on the market, so in order to stay competitive many people are lowering prices on them.
