Hi all,
My male leo used to eat any feeders just fine... crickets, dusted crickets, mealies, dusted mealies...
And now, all of a sudden, he would spit out crickets after the first bite if they were dusted. It's saddening for me to watch wounded crickets crawling around... I mean, taking lives for survival is one thing, but making them suffer unnecessarily is another.
I have no idea why he does it. Just days ago he was fine. Nothing has changed in the meantime, and the calcium I use is the same bottle of Repti Calcium without D3 from Zoo Med, with an expiry date of November 2011. I don't think he dislikes it, for he would lick it from the dish himself.
And I doubt it's a problem with the crickets, because I tried crickets from the same batch and he would eat the "clean" ones without any hassle.
I'll go get some calcium from another brand but would like to hear your thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance !
