Hi!
Yesterday I went to check on a little leo Ive seen in my local pet shop. He was kept in a tank with his siblings (!), on sand and with no uth. It did not take long to se that the poor little guy was heavily bullied and did not get much food at all. A couple of weeks ago I came in to check on him and saw that he had gotten an eye infection, had serious shedding issues and gotten way skinnier. On top of this, his brother had bitten his tail off
I told the store to take him out of there and put him in a little plastic box with damp paper towels and soaks him in baths and flush his eyes. To make a long story short, two new employees started working there during the summer months. They really cared about him and put him in a seperate tank, gave him little saunas and eye drops. The owners were not keen on selling a sick gecko (which is a good thing actually), but I worked hard on convincing that if they did I could take him to the vet. Yesterday I got a call from the new employees and went to pick him up.
He is six months old but is very tiny and weighs in at 10 grams . He has a vet appointment on monday morning and in the meantime I am flushing his eyes with saline and eye drops and giving him baths. He is not in the worst shape a gecko can be, but bad enough for me to rescue him.
I though I would show you guys a picture of what he looked like when I got him yesterday, and later post pictures of how he (hopefully) improves
Any tips are greatly appreciated
