About your leo:
- Sex:
Female. I'm about 99% positive she's a she, lol.
- Age & Weight:
Exact age, I'm not sure. I've had her for about a year and a half to 2 years. She was 4 inches long (give or take) when I got her.
- How long have you owned your leo
^^^^^^
- Where was he/she obtained (ex. Pet store, breeder, wild caught, friend)
Petsmart
A) Health/History
- How often do you handle your leo
Not a lot. Every few days, or more. I try not to handle them too much.
- Is your leo acting any different today? If so how does he/she normally act which differs from now.
Not so much now. She use to be pretty active. When I first found out the problem, she wasn't moving too much. Kind of laying around. But now she's a little more active.
- Has he/she had any problems in the past, if so please describe.
B) Fecals
- Describe (look any different than normal)
Not really. Looks the same as usual.
- When was the last time he/she went
Friday. (The 23rd)
C) Problem
- Please briefly describe the problem and how long it has been going on
She has a swollen leg. 2, actually. One isn't quite as bad, though. The back leg is swollen quite a bit. Noticed it about a week or so ago, after coming home from being away for a few days(I had someone feeding them).
Housing:
A) Enclosure
- Size
20gal-long
- Type (ex. glass tank)
Glass.
- Type of substrate
Reptile carpet.
- Hides, how many, what kind
About 4. Kinds? Um..store bought-homes? lol...Idk how to describe the,.
B) Heating
- Heat source
1 under tank heater and a dome light for keeping temp up when it's chilly.
- Cage temps (hot side, cool side)
Hot side: Usually between 80-90.(Usually gets cooler in my room at night, so temps drop to about 75-80 on the warm side)
Cold side: Between 75-80.
- Method of regulating heat source
^^^^^^
- What are you using to measure your temps
Kind of cheap thermos. I haven't had money for better ones lol.
- Do you have any lights (describe)
I have 1 dome light on top off to one side of the tank, same side as the heater.
C) Cage mates
- How many (males, females)
1 Male
- Describe health, or previous problems
Up until this problem, they've both been healthy as can be.
Describe Diet:
A) Typical diet
- What you're feeding (how often, how much)
Crickets. Every day. Enough for both to eat 3-4 each, depending on size. Sometimes the place I get crickets give me "medium" ones the size of a piece of rice :/...
- How are you feeding (hand fed, left in dish, ect)
Dust the crickets in a little bag, and drop them in the tank.
B) Supplements (describe how often)
- What vitamin/minerals are you using (list brands)
Using 2 thins. Both are Rep-cal. One is the Multivitamins and the other is the Calcium with D3 (phosphorus free). I mix them both in the bag.
- What are you gut loading food with
Same brand, Fluker's. The "high calcium" food and the orange cubes, along with the other stuff. The calcium drink-stuff. I'm out of it right now, and can't think of what it's called.
Now, the story:
My poor little gecko has a pretty swollen back legs, and the front is slightly swollen as well. I don't know if it's an infection or parasite related. I haven't been able to see any signs of bites, scratches, or wounds of any kind. I keep an eye on her every day. She seems to be more active now(I first noticed it about a week or so ago. I cam back from a 3 day trip and her leg was swollen).
I think it's MBD because I don't dust the crickets as often as I should. I did when I first got her, but with the hours I've been working, I haven't been home much and the person feeding them often forgets to dust them.
There are 2 geckos in the tank, the other looks healthy as can be. Nothing swollen, moving around, no infections, nothing. This one, though, has the swollen limbs.

Any advice/help is appreciated.
