Saturday will be 5 weeks from when my geckos breeded. Ive been anxiously awaiting eggs. I just went and made her a whole new setup and she's still not laying. Any tips? Thanks

Does she have enough calcium?
From what I understand, reptiles have a hormone analogue (similar to, but not the same as) oxytocin, which helps get the laying contractions started. It needs calcium for production.

I had a girl this week who had been holding her eggs for 4 1/2 weeks and I remembered this. I gave her some liquid calcium and a stern talking to last night on the dangers her stubbornness was putting her in; and today when I got home? ~Viola! Perfect gecko eggs. *phew*

I was so relieved I gave her 5 waxies. Spoiled brat.

I dont have a UTH and Ive been giving her lots of calcium covered crickets.

Headlamps don't do much for leos. They hide in hides most of the time, and either way they absorb belly heat. Theyre not like a beardie or other reptiles that bask. Why are you trying to breed when you dont even have proper settle for this Leo?

Get an UTH because leopard geckos need bellyheat. Their nocturnal, they do not do well with basking lamps. Second, If you changed her whole set up she could be stressed from the change up. How big is she?

So I have always heard to use a heat lamp for leopard geckos. The guy at the pet store who is suppose to be an expert told me that. After reading on here, I have decided to switch to a UTH. But do I put it on just one side of the tank or under the whole tank?
