One of my Leos has had his eyes shut for a few weeks now and doesn't seem to be eating. I've trued hand feeding but he won't have any. He is in a 10 gal tank with another Leo with two hides plus a humid hide that I just put in today.
I have been giving him warm baths and trying to clean hid eyes with a saline solution for a few weeks now about twice a day. He has improved slightly but refuses to open his eyes still, unless I'm holding him. When he does open his eyes they don't seem to have any obvious problems, he's shed once sense he started doing this and I can't see anything stuck in them but he doesn't make it easy to examine them.
They have been on sand but I just changed to tile today as well. They get meal worms dusted with vitamins and crickets about once a week. I haven't seen him eat but I think he is passing waste... I'm just really bothered that he refuses to open his eyes and have no idea what else I could do.

can you fill in the sticky thread telling us all about your set up please.

If he is having trouble seeing i would reccomend seeing a vet asap.
secondly i would seperate them both as bullying may occur.
What morph is your gecko?, some are very sensative to light and will close their eyes.

I've having a similar problem. How old is he? There's a good chance that he got some sand in his eye and it scratched something or irritated it to the point that even if the saline solution washed out the sand, it could have left scratches behind.

As far as I can tell he is a high yellow covered from head to tall in black spots. I think he is about a year old but I'm not sure. Lately he has been opening his eyes slightly and I've noticed a cloudy/milky substance on his eyes. It doesn't look like its in his eyes, just on top. I have managed to wash it out with the solution but never completely because after a while he will refuse to open his eyes anymore. It always seems to come back, but again I've never been able to fully wash it out.

Because there are no information regarding the substrate or anything else besides the condition of the gecko, is he/she an albino? Im just saying because they are more sensitive to light than non albinos and if there is a lamp used, it could be the case why he has a shut eye all the time. Let me guess as well, if he hides his head in shadows, that could be the case.
