Leopard Gecko and Giant Mealworms????

I have a male leopard gecko I bought about 3-5 months ago. He is 3 years old if not 4. I try to feed him regular mealworms but he either won't eat them or he can't see them.

My question is can I try to feed him Giant Mealworms? Can I feed any Adult Leopard Gecko Giant Mealworms? If he can't really see the regular mealworms then he might be able to see the Giant Mealworms. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks :)

You would be better off trying "super worms" also called Morioworms... less shell more protein and better nutritional values than actual large or extra large mealworms. You will only need a few per feeding. My 1 year old male leo eats 2-4 super worms 3x a week.

Be careful with crickets imo... they can harass your leo if you leave them in with him for a period of time. Uneaten rickets should be removed 15 minutes after offering to make sure they don't nibble your leo. Leaving a piece of food in the tank for the cricket like a carrot can help keep your leo safe. Also crickets can carry parasites which can infect your leo... granted ALL feeder insects can carry parasites that affect your leo, but crickets and locusts seem to have a higher incident of it. Removing one or both of the jumper legs can make it easier for your leo to catch the cricket, but crickets and locusts.

You can also try roaches, my first girl went on a mealworm strike when I bought her but she took to the Dubai roaches straight away.

If you're feeding out of a dish that might not be exciting enough for him. I feed Eros with a tweezers.. dropping the superworm from above to in front of him and he dives on them faster than snap the second they move. The thud from the drop gets his ttention then the movement seals the deal. He may only be eating 2 per feeding right now but the 2 he is eating he's eating with a vengence. Sometimes it's about stimulating natural hunting instincts. Also what are your tank's temperatures like? How do you heat it? Substrait? There's a care queastionaire as a sticky in the health forum that would help if you took a sec to fill it out. that way the membership has all the info they need with out asking a million questions. We can try to find out where this irregular eating is stemming from.

They live in a 20 gallon long with a infrared Heat lamp and a heat pad under the tank. The heat bulb is a 75 watt and the temperature in their hot side is anywhere from 94-99 degrees. (on the hot side)
