I have been considering building a cage for a couple years now,and now I finally think I'm going to go through with it.I have a couple questions though. These are what have been making me reconsider building one.

1.What type of wood should I use?I was thinking melamine or some kind of plywood(suggestion of plywood type would be helpful=))

2.How would I make a door?I would prefer a front door, but a top door is also possible.I don't really want to do sliding glass in the front.

3.If I use plywood, would I need to seal it with something?

4.Any other cage building ideas would be very helpful!

Thanks to anyone who helps!Pictures are also greatly appreciate!:D

Are you wanting to build a rack or one large single enclosure? I built a rack out of melamine and used flexwatt heat tape to heat it. The melamine is very heavy. Larger racks and enclosures are going to be harder to move, but I like how easy it is to clean. If I was building a single enclosure I would use birch plywood and seal it. I think that will give you a much nicer product. I am not sure about what seal though.
