so i am going to go ahead and make a much better more informative video than that english chick :D please list what you think it needs to include, but, please read the list below BEFORE adding your comments. i only need to know each thing once! it will make it difficult to sort through, if 800 people just post dont use sand or feed mealworms.

please list your reccomendations out like:

-enclosure types and size
-feeding (types, size, quantity, etc)
-watering
-vitamins/supplementation
-UTH
-lighting (no UV requirements)
-one male per tank
-furniture
-substrates
-age
-sexing
-shedding
-healthy vs. unhealthy gecko

i think ill leave out breeding, just because i think this should be a basic care video for a newbie. if they want to breed, ill be making a note to check out this site, so they can learn that info here.

im just going to do a healthy vs unhealthy section and ill cover all of your suggestions. not trying to get into a whole bunch of detail, just the main points to a healthy gecko, and ill use the "see your vet if you notice any unhealthy signs" line.ill cover a few of the normal unhealthy things though.

great suggestions. ill probably start working on this on wednesday, so throw me any more suggestions by then!

Fresh water
gut loading food
dusting food (how often)

I think a vodeo for each category would be too much. I think putting it all into one would be better. As long as it's not an overload of info

gut loading food and dusting food will be covered under feeding.

I also think a video for each category would be too much. i think people are more likely to watch one 4 or 5 minute video that gives them a broad view rather than a bunch of specific ones (plus that means a lot more video editing). Ill be steering them towards this site as well, so they can get more specific information here if needed.

I see that point, but my reason for saying multiple videos was, (if i was a newbie) if I had 1 question on feeding, I'm not gonna want to go through 15 minutes of other info to find my answer. obviously some people are going to like it one way, and others another way. so, just do what you want. just my input.

1. proper cleaning technique (how often, what kinds of solutions are suitable & exactly what needs cleaning when--mealie dish, water bowls, hides, entire cage)
2. fecal testing & finding the right vet
3. hit on humidity/misting because pet stores will stress it to sell their equipment & it's not necessary
4. add to 1 male per tank a segment on bullying & proper sizing of geckos sharing a space.
5. morphs--because newbies can't stand not knowing what's what!

Why don't you do a few videos, all of different areas. One of Feeding/feeders, one of husbandry, etc?

Yes a very good idea.

"How to choose a healthy Leo"
"My Leo's Home"
"Feeding my Leo"
"Is my Leo male or female?"
"Is there something wrong with my Leo?"

i just dont have the time to do one for every category. it will be one video about 4 or 5 minutes long.

Just curious on how the progress is going... any updates?

Its going, just very slowly. between school finals coming up, work and firefighter school, i am finding myself strapped for time lately. Hopefully ill have a rough copy in a month or so.
