Yesterday afternoon I purchased a Blazing Blizzard Leopard Gecko from its previous owner. It is a female, approx. 1 & 1/2 years old. This morning as I was handling her I noticed something was unusual about her left eye. It seems as if the iris is torn. While her right eye's pupil is usually just a slit, the left eye's pupil has the shape of a sideways T.
On the left side of the iris, it looks raggedly torn, and it is located in the middle of the eye (as in, the tear is not close to the bottom or top of the eyeball.)
The previous owner made no mention of this prior or after purchasing, and as I was in a rush I did not inspect the gecko entirely.
Thank you for any possible explanations on what this may be, or how it may have been caused.
